Early radar documentation uncovered as part of the 70 years of radar celebration

As part of the celebration for 70 years of type approved radar, Kelvin Hughes have uncovered some of the company’s earliest radar documentation which includes an article from 1946 written by Arthur Hughes, a Type 1 radar sales brochure from 1947 and a Type 1 radar maintenance handbook.

Kelvin Hughes Type 1 Radar
This is a copy of the original sales brochure for the Type 1. The handbook shows the company name as Marine Instruments Ltd this being the name for the combined forces of Kelvin Bottomley & Baird and Henry Hughes & Son before the two companies formerly merged as Kelvin Hughes in 1947.
