Kelvin Hughes welcomes first new apprentice of 2017

Kelvin Hughes is delighted to welcome its first new apprentice of 2017. 18-year old Petros Ttofia is now working within the company’s Finance department and will also be enrolling on an Accounting course at The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London (CONEL), later in the year.
Through its Apprenticeship Academy, Kelvin Hughes is currently offering apprenticeships at its Enfield site both under the Government scheme and through its own in-house bespoke schemes. This dual approach enables the company to help not only those young people from local schools and colleges who meet the Government’s education entry requirements but also other applicants who show the necessary potential.
As a leader in its field, Kelvin Hughes has always attached the highest priority to developing workforce skills. Apprenticeships offer an ideal opportunity for young people to start learning those skills whilst getting paid and laying the foundations for an ongoing career in industry.
Margaret Bundy, Kelvin Hughes’ Group HR Manager, commented:
“We’re delighted to welcome Petros to the company and to our Academy which currently has 7 graduates, mature students and apprentices working towards various college and professional study qualifications. We have a strong commitment to expanding the opportunities we can offer to young people, particularly in the North London area. For that reason, we are continuing to develop our close relationship with CONEL and we expect to take on up to eight new apprentices, starting later this year.”
