Sponsoring and exhibiting at Maritime Security 2016 East
- 15 Mar 2016
Kelvin Hughes is delighted to be acting as Silver Sponsor of Maritime Security 2016 East and will be exhibiting at the show which is being held in Norfolk, Virginia, USA from the 21st to 23rd March.
The event is dedicated to addressing the challenges of securing coastlines, inland waterways, and their critical infrastructure. For Kelvin Hughes, it represents an excellent opportunity to present the wide range of radar applications - based on the company’s industry leading SharpEye™ technology - that have been developed to meet the specific surveillance needs of port, harbour and river traffic operators.
The SharpEye™ SxV is a high performance, lightweight, mobile and deployable self-contained radar that is capable of detecting uncooperative low Radar Cross Section (RCS) targets - from small wooden boats and RHIBs to drones and UAVs - even in high clutter conditions. When deployed on a Kelvin Hughes Single Mast Solution (SMS) combining electro-optic slew to cue cameras, the system can provide 360 degree surveillance of critical port or harbour perimeters, inlets, keys and docking areas. In addition, when combined with Kelvin Hughes’ control and interface software, CxEye™, a complete single or multi-node situational awareness capability can be developed through a Detect, Recognise, Identify and Classify methodology.
Also at Maritime Security 2016 East Kelvin Hughes will be presenting their SBS (Shore Based Sensor) radar range, specifically designed to meet the requirements of a Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) or coastal surveillance system. The Kelvin Hughes SBS-700 (non-coherent), SBS-800 and SBS-900 (both fully coherent) radar systems have been designed to align with the 'Basic', 'Standard' and 'Advanced' capability types of IALA V-128 recommendation and can provide the user with the ability to detect cooperative and uncooperative targets at longer ranges, earlier and in heavy rain and high sea states.
