Demonstrating SxV and SMS at LIMA 2015
- 17 Mar 2015
HALL A, Booth A114
A team from Kelvin Hughes will be in Malaysia from the 17th to 21st March co-exhibiting at LIMA ’15 on the stand of our local agent, D’Aquarian. First held in 1999, LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime & Aerospace Exhibition) is now one of the most influential exhibitions in Asia, expected to attract some 38,000 trade visitors this year. Based at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre and incorporating both Langkawi International Airport and a neighbouring cruise jetty, the event covers maritime and aerospace defence, commercial and business aviation, and shipbuilding and ship repair.
On the stand, we will be exhibiting our industry-leading naval lightweight turning unit and SharpEye™ solid state radar sensor.
The naval lightweight turning unit has been designed for the SharpEye™ radar system which itself represents technological leadership from Kelvin Hughes. The lightweight turning unit is the World’s first carbon composite housing for upmast navigation and situational awareness radar. Key features include lightweight antenna turning unit and transceiver housing, resistant to shock, vibration and corrosion as well as a low Radar Cross Section (RCS) design.
A significant advance on current marine navigation radar technology, SharpEye™ is a solid state system that removes the need for a magnetron. With its GaN transistor technology, coherent transmission and Doppler processing, it is able to separate targets from clutter resulting in greatly improved situational awareness even in adverse weather conditions.
