Showcasing SharpEye™ SxV at ExpoNaval

Kelvin Hughes is delighted to announce that it will be showcasing its SharpEye™ SxV lightweight and easily deployable radar at ExpoNaval 2014 which is being held in Vina Del Mar, Chile from December 2nd to 5th. This will be the first time that the SxV has been exhibited in Latin America.

Sharing the same solid state technology as the X-Band Long Range SharpEye™ radar, the SxV is smaller and lighter whilst still providing users with an unrivalled radar capability that can detect even small, moving targets in adverse weather conditions. It can be integrated with a wide range of thermal imaging cameras, long range and/or low-light optical sensors and even searchlight or loud hailing systems to suit most operational requirements. The SxV can also be incorporated within the company’s innovative Single Mast Solution (SMS) which is equipped with a simple mounting interface that can be easily and securely attached to any mast system – whether portable, vehicle-mounted, or on a fixed structure.

When deployed with Kelvin Hughes’ CxEye™ control and integration software, the SxV provides the user with full situational awareness by combining radar and camera images which can be displayed on a laptop or touchscreen device. Designed for ease of use, CxEye™ geo-references radar tracks on a selection of mapping tools and combines tracking and track fusion from multiple sensors in a single display. With fast ‘slew to cue’ functionality, it creates a recognised situational awareness picture through a ‘detect, recognise, identify and classify’ methodology.

Adrian Pilbeam, Vice President at Kelvin Hughes commented:
“When combined, the superior technology of the SharpEye™ SxV radar and CxEye™ software offers customers an unrivalled opportunity to deploy a state-of-the-art surveillance suite both rapidly and cost-effectively. We’re very much looking forward to demonstrating the benefits our technology can provide at ExpoNaval 2014.”

Kelvin Hughes will also be exhibiting their Naval, Coast Guard and Costal Surveillance radar solutions at the exhibition.
