Kelvin Hughes has appointed global defence prime contractor Austal to head-up its sales and service operations across Australia and New Zealand.
The agreement will allow Kelvin Hughes to better meet the demands of its client portfolio across the region, which includes the Royal Australian Navy, the Royal New Zealand Navy and the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service.
As a defence distributor, Austal will sell and support Kelvin Hughes’ key Naval products including the KH-2007 Naval Transceiver, Naval MantaDigital™ (NMD) Display and Processor System, Naval Tactical Display (NTD), SharpEye™ I and F-Band Transceivers and spare parts.
Austal will also continue to provide systems maintenance, repair and integration services for Kelvin Hughes’ products in the region, strengthening a service partnership which has been in place since 1993.
Russell Gould, chief operating officer of Kelvin Hughes, said:
“We have developed a number of synergies with Austal through a commercial relationship that has spanned almost 20 years. This latest agreement represents an exciting phase in our partnership and will provide us with the platform to grow our regional systems capabilities and strengthen our full product and service proposition to new and existing customers within the region.”
Charles McGill, Austal chief operating officer (Systems and Support) of Austal said:
“We have developed a unique and high degree of Kelvin Hughes product knowledge and related systems integration capability, so we are looking forward to seeing the relationship develop and to continuing to support Austal’s key Naval customers in the region.”
