Business Commercial Administrator Apprentice X 2
An opportunity to undertake a structured programme of supported practical "learning by doing" and, accademic training to develop the skills, knowledge and experience required to provide proactive support to the sales and operational activites of the Security Division and to provide the foundation for the career development of the individual within the commercial function. As an intergral member of the team, to provide support throughout the sales process, from prospect identification through qualification, presentation, proposals, negotiation and finally closing the sale. Post sales activities, including interaction with SSB Operations and Programme Management, to ensure the contracted goods are delivered as contracted, and with Customer Services to ensure the goods are appropriately supported in the field is also required.
Sales & Service Coordinator
We are recruiting for a Sales & Service Coordinator to coordinate the sales quotations to order process from approved quotations, ensuring scope of supply and delivery address loaded is accurate and the delivery date can be achieved by the transit method requested by the sales team. A Systems Engineer is required within the Surveillance Systems business to develop and deliver Company and Customer Funded systems projects based upon Kelvin Hughes’ state of the art radar technology. Activities will include all aspects of the Systems Engineering lifecycle from System Concept through to Delivery and Acceptance, including Bid Support, System Design and System Integration.
Applicants are required to be flexible in their approach to work, as every project and support issue presents different challenges. Applicants mut also possess an appitude for problem solving and have an eye of detail.
Experience of systems design, integration & test. • An understanding of Systems and Product lifecycles from concept through to delivery. • An understanding of a range of Engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical, and Electrical). • Good inter-personal skills with the ability to communicate to all levels within the organisation and externally. • The flexibility to apply skills and knowledge across a number of different projects and products across the organisation. • Computer literate with a good standard of written English, capable of compiling accurate, detailed and well-presented technical proposals, specifications and reports. • A willingness to travel. (NB whilst this role is based at our Enfield premises, a certain amount of business travel will be required depending upon project requirements).
Desirable (Not Essential):
An understanding of Radar Systems is desirable, although not essential if other complementary skills demonstrate a capacity to understand new technologies quickly and effectively. • Experience of the whole product lifecycle (concept generation, concept demonstration, development, production and in-service support). • Experience of working with and developing systems using communications protocols. (e.g. RS485, RS232, TCP-IP, Canbus etc.) • Experience of working on product development for Naval Platforms. • Experience of working on or with Navigation equipment. • The ability to lead multi-skilled engineering teams. • The ability to deliver engineering packages of work to time, cost and quality. • Member of a Professional Engineering Institution (e.g. IMechE, IET, INCOSE). • UK Security clearance. • UK Driving License.
Ideally qualified to Degree level in Engineering/Mathematics/Physics although relevant, equivalent experience is acceptable.

Project / Programme Manager
A Programme Manager is required to control customer-funded development / production programmes within Kelvin Hughes. Activities will centre on a small number of more significant programmes for which the Project Manager could be expected to assist with the bid and then take responsibility for all aspects of the programme from, contract receipt to final acceptance of the product by the customer. A close liaison with Sales, Contracts, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Customer Services, Quality and Accounting departments within the Company will be required to fulfil this tasks.

Test Support Engineer is required to help support test techniques within Kelvin Hughes production and at vendors. Must have a high standard of transferable skills to deliver test support. Troubleshooting to discreet component level. Familiar with a wide range of test equipment and techniques. Able to work with a broad range of personalities and skill sets. Senior Systems Engineer - Security
Senior Systems Engineer is required within the Security Solutions Division to ensure that consistent and compliant System Solutions are delivered to customers, meeting the needs of the Security business. You will need extensive knowledge of product development, engineering change management, systems engineering and quality systems and their practical application. Knowledge of radar (or communications) system design and performance analysis. Proven experience of integration and demonstration of equipment and subsequent acceptance by customer / end users. Proven experience of sensor integration into varied platforms. Proven technical skills, relating to effective systems engineering, practical application of quality assurance and configuration control, as well as appropriate document generation. Definition and delivery of Systems solutions for the Security business.
Technical support to Sales and Marketing including generating information to support bids, technical presentations to customers, generation of product specifications and attendance at customer meetings.
Provide technical design solutions to support proposed system changes and bids ensuring appropriate compliance with customer, business and legislative requirements including safety.
Adopt a consistent approach to systems engineering activities throughout the design life cycle.
Take an active involvement in new product design, providing system level input from product definition through to release into production.
Maintain and support legacy/delivered systems including visits to customer sites and installations where necessary.
Monitor and, where possible, introduce up to date technology into Kelvin Hughes system designs.
Travel within the UK and overseas is required, and is considered a frequent feature of this role. This could be required at short notice. It may also involve deployments of up to 6 weeks at a time.

The Security Solutions Business produces integrated security solutions to Critcal National infrastructure and Militaries all around the world. Using a variety of in house sensors, from the Hensoldt group of companies, trusted partners, and externally sourced senors and software modules. The Software Engineer will be responsible for the improvements to, and maintenance of the integrated C2 application that links up all the sensors to create the heart of the solution. The desgin and update of the MMI, the additon of new features, and the interfaces to existing and new sensors will all be within the Software Engineers' area of responsibility.

Manufacturing & Operations
Experienced Technician is required to manufacture high complexity electro mechanical products that form part of a marine radar navigation product range. The role requires the assemby, rework and test of electro mechanical radar equipment typically for maritime applications and the working to and the development of manufacturing procedures.
An experienced Import/Export Controller is required to take full responsibility for arranging the exports of Kelvin Hughes and customer goods globally while ensuring compliance with Export Controls and Customs regimes for efficient on-time deliveries and re-importations where required. To ensure documentation is completed in accordance with company, customer and legislative requirments and all imported goods are classified accurately utilising the approprite Customs Regimes such as IPR, OPR, PCC etc., in the most tax efficient manner while monitoring and reporting the use of Export Licensing and thier returns.
